Bill and Kate’s Great Adventure

The Itinerary

In late 2024, my partner Katie and I left our beloved positions at the Florida Springs Institute and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission to pursue our dreams of traveling, experiencing new cultures, and working on natural history documentaries.

We will be traveling for as long as our health and budgets afford, and are expecting many changes to this itinerary. Our only constraint is to be back in time for Christmas dinner.

We plan to work on:

Freshwaters of Southeast Asia and Oceania: a Natural History Documentary Project

I have always dreamed of working on a natural history documentary. Breaking into the field has been exceptionally difficult. Then it hit me…

This story will follow the flow of freshwater through a jungle; starting in the canopy and following it out to the mangroves. I will use wildlife to highlight the importance of freshwater and share the stories of integral species that support complex systems.

Never beg for a seat when you can build your own table.
